Earlier this August, life was still moving slowly, as usual. I still had no clear direction—no rush to go anywhere.
Then one day, a friend from my previous campus sent me a message.
He told me about a university in Jakarta offering a continuation program with a mostly online system.
It was Bina Nusantara University—Binus, one of the top private universities in Indonesia.
The news felt like a cool breeze on a hot afternoon.
Classes would only be held offline four times per semester.
Which meant: I wouldn’t have to completely leave Bangkinang.
I could stay home, still help occasionally in the garden, and live my slow-paced days just as I had been—only this time, with something new to learn.
At first, I hesitated.
Not because I was afraid I couldn't handle it, but because I wasn’t sure where this decision came from.
Was it something I truly wanted? Or was I just trying to stop myself from standing still too long?
But after a long talk with my parents—about the possibilities, the cost, and how this path wouldn’t require sacrificing everything—I finally made my choice:
I’ll continue my studies there.
It wasn’t a dramatic decision.
There were no fireworks, no fanfare.
But something inside me felt warmer—like a small step had finally moved, after standing still for far too long.
I don’t know what it will be like.
But for the first time in many quiet months, I feel like I’m beginning to look forward to something.
